Brutally attacked during a peaceful protest in Denver, community comes together in support of Alejandro in front of the Denver courthouse Wednesday morning.

‼️On Nov. 16, 2025, federal agents, in collaboration with 50 SAPD officers, swarmed a food truck park off San Pedro near Basse Road.
They claimed to be targeting a drug dealer. But when the raid was over, 143 people were swept into custody.
In this new interview, @rosetinted.vision sits with attorney Hannah Eash-Gates who represents one of those men, a husband and father from Honduras who was granted asylum in 2021. His story is a nightmare: 🚔
He was sitting in his car when agents surrounded him, smashed every window except the windshield, pulled him out, and shackled his hands and feet. 🪪 At the processing facility, he showed them his valid driver’s license, Social Security card, and work permit. Agents told him they were fake. 📧
Despite his lawyer emailing proof of his legal asylum status on Nov. 20, officials ignored her. He remained illegally locked up for almost four weeks before a judge finally dismissed his removal proceeding on Dec. 9. The justification was “Venezuelan gang activity,” but the reality was mass detention without cause. The original drug charges used for justification of the entire raid were dropped days later. We still don’t know how many of the 143 people detained were legal residents or were deported. Community groups are still fighting to get more transparency and accountability from the agencies involved.

‼️In Part 2 of our interview, attorney Hannah Eash-Gates breaks down what this raid means for everyone, regardless of immigration status. San Antonio is a city of immigrants.
Longtime residents and newly arrived families live side by side across every part of town. So what happens when federal agents detain people before confirming who they are or what their legal status is? ⚖️ If someone is a U.S. citizen, there is no legal basis for immigration detention. 📄 If someone has legal status — like asylum or refugee status — the government must prove specific conditions to justify putting them back into deportation proceedings. 🚫 In her client’s case, officials didn’t assert any of those conditions.
They didn’t present a serious charge. They didn’t justify the detention. Instead, he sat in custody for nearly a month while his attorney fought to prove what the government should have verified from the start.
This is Part 2 of our conversation about what happened in the Nov. 16 raid that led to 143 people being taken into custody. The people of this city continue to demand transparency and accountability.

Recap: Faith leaders and community members walked 90 miles from the Dilley family detention center to the immigration courthouse in San Antonio. 🙏🏽
For many, this was a pilgrimage. A physical act of prayer. A way to enter into the struggle of our people.
It was hard. It was painful. And it was renewing.
We heard calls for accountability, transparency inside detention centers, and an end to the impunity harming our families. We heard reminders that our power comes from vulnerability, from faith, and from movement.
San Antonio is a city of immigrants. We will continue organizing, loving, and demanding justice. ✊🏽

Hundreds gathered in San Antonio to welcome marchers who walked 90 miles from the Dilley family detention center to the immigration courthouse. ❤️
Ninety miles of prayer. Ninety miles of witness. Ninety miles for families who should never have to walk this road alone.
We are tired. Tired of detention. Tired of children in prison. Tired of shouting truth over lies.
But we are not stopping.
Every step was a declaration that our immigrant brothers and sisters will not be abandoned. We will keep walking until detention centers close and our communities can live without fear.
Take one more step with us. 🦋
